Tammy Voegele

Hey, I’m Tammy.

I am a Resident in Counseling under the supervision of Danielle Johnson. I recently graduated from Grand Canyon University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis in Christian Counseling. I work with adults and children experiencing depression, anxiety, emotional regulation challenges, trauma, and grief. I am committed to creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel seen, heard, and respected. I believe in individualized and wholistic care for each person.

My background & approach

My therapeutic approach is an integrated approach stemming from person-centered care, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as well as trauma-informed care. I emphasize empathy, collaboration, and unconditional positive regard. I help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns while developing practical coping skills for emotional regulation and daily functioning. Within trauma informed care I recognize the impact of past experiences on the mind and body and prioritize safety, empowerment, and trust. When working with children I incorporate art and play-based interventions to support emotional expression, build coping skills, and promote healing in developmentally appropriate ways. I think there is hope to be discovered in any circumstance, and that each person brings their own individuality and should receive respectful, individualized support. I also offer faith-based biblical counseling for those clients who desire this. My background prior to counseling is in education, specifically special education.

In my free time I enjoy my husband and five adult children. My self-care is being in nature and finding my calm and peace at the beach.
