Resident in Counseling

Abby Agyemang

A safe space to heal and grow

Hi. I’m Abby.

I am a compassionate and dedicated Resident in Counseling with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am passionate about supporting adolescents, couples, and adults as they navigate life’s challenges, strengthen their emotional well-being, and work toward personal growth and healing.

My background & approach

My counseling approach is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and individualized care. I believe every individual has a unique story and deserves a safe, welcoming, and judgment-free space to feel heard, understood, and supported. I strive to meet clients where they are, honoring their experiences while empowering them to recognize their strengths and develop healthy coping strategies.

I have a special interest in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, and other emotional or personal difficulties. I draw from evidence-based therapies—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Structural Family Therapy, and person-centered, trauma-informed care—to help clients achieve their therapeutic goals.

Therapy is a collaborative journey, and meaningful change begins when clients feel safe enough to be authentic and vulnerable. I am committed to providing culturally sensitive, compassionate care while continuing to grow professionally through ongoing education, supervision, and clinical development. My philosophy is simple: Everyone deserves to be heard, understood, and supported. Healing is not about having all the answers; it is about taking the first step toward becoming the healthiest version of yourself.
